Members of Clarkson’s Biochemistry and Proteomics Laboratories Attend the Eastern Analytical Symposium

The members of Clarkson’s Biochemistry and Proteomics Laboratories, led by Professor of Chemistry & Biomolecular Science Costel C. Darie, are attending the Eastern Analytical Symposium, held at the Princeton Crowne Plaza, during November 14-16, 2022, in Plainsboro, NJ. The Eastern Analytical Symposium is one of the largest conferences on the East Coast, covering the field of chemistry.

“The members of our lab is well represented,” said Darie. We have five graduate students (Danielle Whitham, Taniya Jayaweera, Aneeta Arshad and Pathea Bruno and Ronaldo Badenhorst) and four undergraduate students (Isabelle Sullivan, Mary Donnelly, James Lowe and Norman Haaker) that are attending the meeting. Ronaldo Badenhorst is one of the late professor Artem Melman’s lab members (currently in Prof. Evgeny Katz’s lab).

The students will deliver six oral presentations and four poster presentations. Undergraduate students are delivering three of the oral presentations and two of the poster presentations. Darie says many of these students have never attended this conference, let alone attended any conference.

“I am excited to be here, on my first conference as a graduate student”, said Bruno, the newest graduate student in Darie’s Labs. “I believe that it is a very good practice to be exposed to other peers,” ended Bruno.
