Greetings from the Save Winter Team for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games! This January from the 12th to the 22nd, we would like to invite members of your campus community to volunteer with us and play a crucial role in this exciting international event as an ambassador for our sustainability initiatives this winter.
Volunteers can experience our world-class winter sports venues, participate in our highly anticipated FISU World Conference- Save Winter: The Intersection of Climate Change and Winter Sports, and leave a tremendous impact on the legacy of the Games by setting the new standard for sustainability in spectator sporting events.
The conference will take place January 13-15 at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, and features appearances from some of the most prominent advocates of sustainability and climate justice, including Bill McKibben, Aaron Mair, Nathan Chen, Mike Richter, Justine Nagan, and so many more! Students are encouraged to attend in-person or virtually. Learn more about the conference and register here!

Basic duties for volunteers- Those who are interested in volunteering for the Save Winter team can expect to work on the following sustainability initiatives:
- Assisting with the FISU World Conference
- Recovering food and distributing it to people in need
- Managing the tri-sort waste systems at all of our venues
- Acting as Climate Ambassadors to the games
Volunteers who SIGN UP for 6 or more shifts will receive this stunning, high quality Karbon uniform!
