Manager of Purchasing and Real Estate (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary Guidelines: The Manager of Purchasing and Real Estate Management is responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of the Purchasing Department to ensure that the needs of the University and its stakeholders are being met in the procurement of services and/or goods, as well as routine real estate matters.

The Manager shall maintain the integrity of the procurement process through the development and
monitoring of long and short term strategic purchasing and procurement plans, policies and operating procedures and shall comply with all federal and state laws, rules and regulations.

The Manager is responsible for all phases of procurement activities which include: day to day and capital
project procurement and purchases; managing contracts through administration, negotiation, review,
renewing and evaluating price, term and quality of products.

This role will be responsible for the coordination of any bid process or request for proposal process,
and adhere to University policies and procedures, including conflict of interest policies, as well as all federal and state laws, rules and regulations.

The incumbent will conduct and monitor routine real estate matters for both Clarkson University and its
related entities, including the leasing and property management of existing and prospective properties and potential tenants.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from accredited College or University in accounting, finance or business administration or a related field of study, 2-4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Experience managing and administering large and complex procurement and purchasing programs.

Graduate Recruiter (Potsdam, NY or Schenectady, NY)

Position Summary:  Reporting to the Director of Graduate Recruitment, this position will have responsibility for application oversight for the Graduate School programs. This includes recruiting prospective students, nurturing inquiries to result in applications, coordinating the application process; attending recruitment fairs and events; and actively managing a personal contact campaign via multiple mediums to assure exceptional service. The position requires evening and weekend work, flexible hours and travel. This position can be based at either the main campus in Potsdam or the Capital Region Campus in Schenectady. If based in Potsdam, the role will work remotely (from the Potsdam Campus) with the rest of the team based at the Capital Region Campus. Note: If the role is filled in Potsdam, an extended period of time (2-4 weeks) may be required to be spent at the Capital Region Campus at the start of the role for training purposes. If the role is filled in Schenectady, the same period of time may be required at the Potsdam Campus.

General Purpose: Recruit high quality applicants for the Graduate School programs by assisting the Director of Admissions and Recruitment with developing and implementing recruitment strategies, and extensive personal communication with prospects. Obtain optimum recruitment levels for assigned graduate programs, which includes appropriate size, quality and diversity of applications.
