Clarkson University Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Ian McCrum was recently selected to serve on the Early Career Editorial Board for the Journal of Catalysis.
The Journal of Catalysis publishes original, rigorous, and scholarly contributions in the fields of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis including all forms of chemical transformations. McCrum was appointed to the Early Career Editorial Board on Dec. 31, 2022 and will serve as a member for two years.
McCrum said the Early Career Editorial Board is a new thing for the Journal of Catalysis. The idea is to get early career faculty and researchers involved in advising the editorial team on the future direction of the journal. The board meets once a year, and members are also expected to serve as reviewers for the journal.
“I am honored to be selected, I feel it will help me to take a more active and visible role in the catalysis community, the field in which I do research,” McCrum said. “I am looking forward to interacting with other members of the board, as well as encouraging other early career researchers and those who study cutting-edge topics in catalysis, such as computational catalysis and machine learning, to consider submitting their work to the Journal of Catalysis.”
