Clarkson Men’s Hockey Within Reach of Cleary Cup

A wild regular season of ECAC Hockey action comes to a close this weekend with virtually everything still up for grabs in the 12-team conference standings. Clarkson still in the race for the Cleary Cup as regular season champions hosts Central NY rivals Colgate and current league-leader Cornell this weekend at Cheel Arena as part of the University’s Cold Out Gold Out (COGO) Weekend. Both games are 7:00 p.m. face offs and will be broadcast over B99.3 FM and live streamed on ESPN+. Prior to Saturday’s game, Clarkson will honor the Golden Knights’ Class of 2019 on Senior Night.

First order of business for Clarkson is to secure a top four spot in the highly contested conference and the first-round bye in the upcoming playoffs that goes with it.   With two games left on the ECAC Hockey slate, Clarkson stands in fourth place, one point behind Harvard and Quinnipiac in second place and just two points shy of first-place Cornell. The Green and Gold are two points ahead of fifth-place Yale.  Clarkson owns a 12-7-1 ECAC Hockey mark.
