OIT Reminds Teachers: Fall 2023 Course Prep Two Week Countdown

Teachers: A reminder that class begins August 28. The following are a few reminders to help you with pre-term course preparations:

Request Your Echo360 Lecture Capture Schedule:

IF you wish to record in-person class lectures with Echo360, the time to submit the request to schedule those recordings in Peoplesoft Faculty Center is now. Help Desk will send you an update via RT when your recording schedule is complete.

Learn more about lecture capture with Echo360.

Set Up ‘Virtual Class and Recordings’ in Moodle:

A link to create a Zoom meeting room and a link to your course in Echo360 can be found in your Moodle course. Select the desired options and complete the set-up as described in these instructions.

Show Your Course in Moodle

Each term the Help Desk hears from many concerned students who are looking for their course in Moodle. Student do not see it in their Moodle Dashboard until you ‘show’ your course. Student appreciate being able to see it as it allows them to confirm their enrollment and access any pre-term information you wish to convey. Teachers can select which information students can see, hide all the rest until a later time. So go ahead, and show that course now!

Get Acquainted with Classroom Technology

For those teaching in classrooms, it is a good practice to get acquainted with your classroom before the first day of class. Take time to stop by to confirm location, login to the computer and become familiar with controls for overhead projection, microphone audio, webcasting/recording options and pen touch tablet. More information about technology in Clarkson Learning Spaces here.
