Choral Society

Dear Clarkson Faculty, Staff, & Students:

The St. Lawrence Choral Society, a community chorus in residence at St. Lawrence University in Canton, is continuing to welcome new tenors and basses for its 2023-2024 season until September 12! The choir is open to residents of the North Country, including faculty, staff, and students of all area universities. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7-9PM in P-K Hall within Griffiths Arts Center on the St. Lawrence University campus. The choir performs 3-4 times per year, both at St. Lawrence as well as at other locations in the region. Programs will feature a wide variety of accompanied and unaccompanied repertoire, along with celebrated works for chorus and orchestra.

If you’re looking for a place to sing, we invite you to consider joining this warm and fun-loving community of choral enthusiasts. We are currently 76 members strong and represent 9 different North Country towns and all 4 local universities. Forty percent of the group is brand-new to the choral society and we would love to have YOU join us! We are only accepting new tenors and basses at this time, and although singers of all voice types and experience levels are welcome, new sopranos and altos who sign up will be waitlisted. The only requirements for membership are the ability to match pitch, a commitment to attending rehearsals consistently, and a love for making music with others.

To indicate your interest in joining, please complete and submit the Google form available at this link: https://forms.gle/vzvR8M6LuqR7MAJw8. And if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Jason Bishop at jbishop@stlawu.edu.

We hope to sing with you soon!
