COVID -19 Message to Potsdam Campus

Dear Clarkson Community,

We are sharing the St. Lawrence County Department of Health COVID-19 information page, https://stlawco.gov/Departments/PublicHealth/COVID-19, and CDC Page, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html, which provides vaccination FAQs, testing resources, and guidance for isolation upon notification of a positive test.

COVID-19 Testing Information:

Students with symptoms should contact the Student Health & Counseling Center, shac@clarkson.edu, 315-268-6633,  during business hours (M-F, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).  Please wear a mask if visiting SHAC in person. Employees should access testing from their local medical providers.  At-home rapid tests are available for purchase at local pharmacies.

Students and employees who test positive should follow the public health guidance to wear masks and isolate to minimize contact with others.  SHAC has a limited supply of masks for students who need one.Students who would like to get to-go meals from Ross-Brooks Dining Hall should contact the Dean of Students in advance to coordinate.  To-go meals are available without advanced notice at the Servery and Cheel dining facilities.

Academic/Work Information:

Students who test positive should notify the Dean of Students, deanofstudents@clarkson.edu, and their professors and include the day when their isolation period ends in the email.  Faculty members will work with students to make up assignments they may have missed, as they would with any other illness or injury.

Employees who test positive should notify their supervisor and Human Resources, clarksonhr@clarkson.edu,  as well as stay home just as they would for any other illness or injury for further follow up and in accordance with the guidance posted on the County Public Health and CDC website.

Thank you again for helping to prevent the spread of illness and following public health practices and guidance.

Sincerely,

Brian Grant ‘93
