Student Achievement Services Welcomes New Team Members

Shantel Ingersoll was promoted to Student Achievement Services (SAS) Operations Associate in July. Shantel has been with the University since 2021, starting in the Office of University Advising as a Professional Advisor to undergraduate Pre-Health students, and is currently a student in Clarkson’s MBA program. Shantel’s role prioritizes the optimization of SAS digital resources, myCU system efficiencies, and promoting access and training to self-service transactions for community stakeholders.

Originally from Malone, Elizabeth Pietropaoli returned to the North Country and started at Clarkson in August. She was a high school teacher for nearly twenty years in DC, NH, and Rochester, NY, and is excited to join Student Achievement Services as a Specialist and continue working with students in a new capacity.   Elizabeth’s role provides highly integrated student-centered case management services to triage, refer, and support time sensitive outcomes for student financial clearance and enrollment.

Angie Shatraw came to Clarkson in May of 2019 and has since served in various roles within Student Achievement Services and Financial Aid. Most recently, Angie transitioned into the role of Assistant Registrar for Scheduling, where she will serve as the go-to staff member for the University master course schedules, incoming freshmen schedules, and academic advisement reports. Angie lives in the Village of Potsdam with her family and is currently a student in Clarkson’s MBA program.

Karen Bronchetti, SAS Administrative Assistant/University Reservationist joined the team in August.  Karen is a graduate of Boston College, a native of Massena, and has returned to Northern NY after living and working for many years in New Jersey.  Karen’s split role provides front-facing student-centered administrative functions for the Registrar and Student Accounts Units while serving the University as the centralized location for managing the self-service Space Reservation Platform.

Kara Pitts has returned to the Student Achievement team following a brief break.  After taking some time to recharge, Kara is now ready to take on a new role as the University Registrar.  She started her career at Clarkson in Admissions in 2005, and served as the Director of New Student Financial Aid from May 2011 – August 2021, and most recently serving as the Director of Financial Aid until January 2023.  Her extensive experience in Admissions and Financial Aid will prove very valuable in her position as Registrar.  For the duration of the Fall semester, Krista Larock Wells has agreed to assist in training to ensure Kara and the entire Registrar team have a solid foundation for success.

And finally, please join Amanda Pickering, AVP for Academic Affairs and Student Achievement, in thanking Krista Larock Wells for her service in the Registrar’s Office. Krista states, “I truly enjoyed working with the Registrar’s Office for the past several years and I am looking forward to my new adventure with the Reh School.  My colleagues in SAS are an amazing group of people that I will miss working with daily and I look forward to continuing to work with them in a different way in my new role.”
