Task Force update, 11/1

Dear Clarkson colleagues and students,

The Re-imagining Clarkson Task Force is now beginning its third week in action.  This message contains an update on our work and some FAQ below.

What has the Task Force been doing this week?

The Task Force has been in near-constant communication with each other, with our VP of Finance, and others around campus.  We have attended the University-wide and School Q&A sessions, and logged over 150 suggestions sent in via suggestions@clarkson.edu. We are continuing to gather data and analyze Clarkon’s needs to provide accredited programs and maintain Clarkson’s strong identity.  We are also assessing the elements of the Prototype Plan for feasibility, and can say that certain elements of the Prototype Plan seem infeasible based on data that we have analyzed.  We are continuing to explore other ways to decrease Clarkson’s expenses while striving to maintain the quality of a Clarkson education and good career opportunities for faculty and staff.

What can I do to help?
We appreciate the suggestions we have already received!  Please keep them coming to suggestions@clarkson.edu; we read and log all messages, even if we don’t reply to yours personally.  Again, the best suggestions are specific, rapidly-implementable, and contain an estimate of the savings that would be realized.

We plan to send our next update in one week.

Best,

The Re-imagining Clarkson Task Force
