At Clarkson, he majored in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Engineering. He became involved with the CU collegiate chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), led the Clarkson University Jazz Ensemble, and was Captain of the Men’s Swimming Team. After graduating from Clarkson in 2017, Bakari began working at Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E: An Avangrid Company). He is presently a Senior Protection & Control Engineer. Outside of work, Bakari leads a Smooth Jazz/R&B band, serves as Secretary of the Rochester NSBE Professionals, and enjoys cooking as well as traveling with his wife.
