Are you a Clarkson student who is passionate about awareness, advocacy, and health equity for physical and mental wellness? In affiliation with Student Health and Counseling Services (SHAC) at Clarkson University, we invite students to apply as a Wellness Peer for the Wellness Peer program! All majors are invited to apply, no specific academic background is necessary.
What are Wellness Peers?
On a peer-to-peer level, Wellness Peers are student leaders who strive to broaden connections with peers, amplify personal and community wellbeing across campus, and decrease barriers surrounding help-seeking and self-care. Wellness Peers initiate these psychoeducational conversations with fellow students about physical and mental wellness through presentations, campus engagement, and Clarkson community events.
Some benefits of being a Wellness Peer include:
- Leadership experience in planning/leading events and programming
- Public speaking experience that benefits credentials for graduate school and/or future career endeavors
- Opportunity to enhance knowledge and develop expertise in a range of topics related to mental health, physical health, and holistic wellness
- Consistent guidance under supervision with on-staff Clarkson University counselors through weekly Wellness Peer meetings
…and more!
Students can apply and learn more information about the Wellness Peer program at this application link or at the SHAC Knightlife page.
