Greetings from the Office of the Registrar at Clarkson University. We look forward to your arrival on campus this summer and are happy to be a helpful resource for you over the next four years!
You may be wondering what classes you will be taking this fall, so we want to give you an overview of what to expect. We have posted a SAMPLE schedule to your Clarkson Status Portal. The sample schedule includes the recommended courses for first-semester students in your major and does not take into account credit for outside coursework, so your actual schedule may vary. Your actual class schedule is based on several factors, including:
- your intended major;
- any college-level coursework you may already completed;
- your scores on summer readiness exams in your Clarkson Status Portal; and
- your participation in any special activities (such as Honors Program, varsity athletics, or ROTC).
In order for us to tailor your first year experience to your unique interests and needs, we ask that you complete the Class Scheduling and Advanced Standing Questionnaire, as well as the UNIV 190 Theme Selection survey by June 15th. Both can be found on your To Do List in your Clarkson Status Portal.
Also, if you’ve taken any AP exams and would like to receive credit, please make sure to send those scores to Clarkson using the code (2084). If you have taken any courses through another college or university, please have an official transcript sent to the address listed at the bottom of this email as soon as possible.
Your fall class schedule will be created based on all of this information and will be available in MyCU by early August. Keep an eye on your Clarkson email account for updates along the way!
Last but not least, we know you will have many questions during your transition to Clarkson. Whether it’s about AP credit, class scheduling, degree requirements, licensure, billing, or financial aid, we would like to remind you that our teams are available to you over the summer.
