Please consider joining the August 15th NSF webinar to learn more about the SBIR/STTR Fast-Track Pilot Proposal program. This program provides up to $2M over three years for startup companies and small businesses that are working to commercialize NSF-funded technologies. Successful applicants to this program will not need to submit separate proposals for “Phase I” and “Phase II” funding.  Instead, just one application is required, making the administrative effort for this program far less of a burden than the traditional SBIR/STTR process. Don’t have an existing small business or startup to partner with? We can help! Contact the Shipley Center for Innovation to assist in finding a commercial partner, or to explore the formation of a startup company.

Among the other requirements for this program, at least one Senior/Key Personnel must have undergone formal customer discovery training in relation to the proposed technology. If you have not already participated in such training, or aren’t sure whether or not you have, please contact the Shipley Center for Innovation. In addition to providing you with general information about Customer Discovery, we can also share information about the Shipley Center’s upcoming NSF I-Corps program, which satisfies this requirement, or discuss alternative one-on-one training through our North Country Incubator, which will also satisfy the requirement.
