The Office of Residence Life hopes you have had a wonderful first two weeks of classes! Below are a couple of reminders as you get settled into your Fall semester.
Laundry Machine Issues:If someone is having trouble with a washer or dryer, there are two ways to address the issue. First, you can use the QR code located in the laundry room. Additionally, you can visit this page on the Clarkson website: Laundry Link. When you open the link, click on “How to service a washer or dryer.” This will take you to Laundry View. Type in “Clarkson University,” and it will prompt you with a list of residential spaces. Laundry View provides a 2D layout of the laundry machines, showing which ones are in use and which ones are out of service. You can also use this to submit work orders to get the machines serviced and working again.
Dining – Last Day to Change Meal Plan is TODAY
Students residing in University residence halls are required to select a University dining plan. The 50/500 is not available for students living in residence halls. Students residing in University apartments are not required to select a University dining plan. These students may voluntarily select any dining plan. If choosing the 50/500, it may be added at any time during the semester. Students cannot change dining plans after the first 10 days of the semester. Unused Declining Balance or Meals left on a student’s account as of the last day of meal plan each May will not be refunded or rolled over to the upcoming Fall semester. *See refund policy for specifics*. You can view all the Dining Plans by clicking here. All meal plan changes or approved removals must be requested by 4:30 pm September 6th, any requested after this point will not be honored/changed. Personal Property Insurance:
The University does not carry insurance of any kind on the property of students and accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to such property. Students are encouraged to carry their own personal property insurance or renters insurance. The University does not endorse any specific insurance provider. Questions about renters insurance should be directed to your prospective provider.
Furniture Removal Requests:
Furniture in students’ rooms will not be removed regardless of if the student considers it “extra” furniture. Facilities will not take out unused furniture. All rooms will maintain the university-supplied furniture for the true occupancy of the room (not how many people may be physically located in the space at any given time). These work orders will be canceled. Any missing furniture not reported in your Room Condition Reports on myCU will be charged to the student(s) assigned to the space for replacement.
