Will present a talk titled: Aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS) with Discussions on Aircraft Systems Design and Aircraft Performance
Abstract: The seminar is an introduction to aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS). The objective is to present a top level view of the systems, from selected regulatory requirements to the architecture and function of the individual systems and components. The focus will be on classic bleed (pneumatic) system architecture, but recent developments will also be examined. Some requirements and components will be addressed in more detail as examples. Aircraft systems design and aircraft performance will also be discussed.

Bio: Omer Majeed is an aerospace systems engineer with twenty-five years of experience in the aviation industry. He holds Bachelor (1992) and Masters (1995) of Aerospace Engineering degrees from Carleton University. Omer works at MDS Aero Support Corp. as a systems engineer and is currently working on two projects: F-35B Lift Fan Test Facility in Cherry Point, North Carolina and the LMS100PB+ Industrial Gas Turbine Test Facility in Jacintoport, Texas. He is also the owner of Specific Range Solutions Ltd., an aerospace engineering consulting company he founded in December 2008. From 2009 to 2105, he worked on Bombardier’s Global 7500 and C Series (now Airbus A220) programs.
Omer is the Co-Chair of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) Ottawa Branch and is a member of the Society of Aircraft Performance and Operations Engineers (SAPOE). He is a licensed professional engineer with the PEO, as well as holds a Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and a Multi-Engine Rating.
