I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: The Student Success Center and the Office of
Information Technology are in the early stages of developing a comprehensive system to
transform the student experience—Slate for Student Success! When fully realized, this
innovative platform will connect Clarkson’s current Slate CRM platforms (used by both
Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions as well as Alumni) to create a better integrated and
personalized support system for our students, spanning their journey from inquiry to the
university through their on-campus experience and continuing into alumni and philanthropy
engagement.
In its alpha testing phase, Slate for Student Success is being designed with input from a
dedicated group of 40 faculty and staff who will work closely with the project leadership team
throughout the spring semester. This collaborative effort is essential to ensuring that the tool
meets the campus’s needs.
Slate for Student Success will support our students, offering:
● Streamlined communication for greater connection and clarity.
● Enhanced advising tools to better guide students through their academic journeys.
● Personalized support that meets students where they are and empowers them to
achieve their fullest potential.
This system will help us achieve our collective goal of supporting students from their first steps
on campus through graduation—and beyond.
Want to learn more? Curious about how Slate could enhance your work or the student
experience? We’d love to chat about the vision, goals, and opportunities this initiative brings.
You can also reach out to Ron Boczarski, Senior Implementation & Integration Specialist or
Ashley Sweeney, Director of Ignite, who are also on the project leadership team in this effort and
happy to answer any questions.
We couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. Stay tuned for updates as we continue this
journey!
Warmly,
Cathy McNamara, Associate Vice President for Academic Support and Student Engagement
Joshua Fiske, Vice President for Information Technology
