The Institute for STEM Education is excited to invite you to our upcoming conference, Transforming Education Activities into Research, where we will explore the dynamic relationship between research and teaching at Clarkson University. 

Feel free to register and just participate between classes or meetings. It is OK to drop in and pop out as needed.

  2. 9:45-10:15 Presentation/Discussion: The continuum of scholarship in teaching and learning
  3. 10:15-10:30 Break
  4. 10:30-10:40 Group Discussion: Establish focus/intent for the day
  5. 10:40-10:55 Presentation: Why do a Literature Review 
  6. 10:55-11:55 Panel discussion – Faculty Who Do Classroom Research. 
  7. 12:45-4:00 Working Sessions (brief lectures followed by individual/group work time)
    1. 12:45-1:20 Formulating a  research question: Establish objectives and outcomes 
    2. 1:20-1:50 Experimental Plan
      • Formulating a study design 
      • Quantitative vs. Qualitative vs. Mixed?
      • Finding or developing measurement tools
    3. 1:50-2:45 Analyzing and presenting research results
