Spring 2019 Final Exams Scheduled for May 1-May 7

Spring 2019 final exams are scheduled for May 1-May 7, 2019.  Please note University Regulation III-G-6 states: “No tests or examinations of any kind can be given or be due (in the case of take-home exams) on any of the seven calendar days preceding the first day of final examinations or the first reading day, whichever comes first. The only exceptions to this policy are tests or exams for laboratory, physical education, aerospace studies, and military science courses. Permitted activities include homework assignments, projects (provided they are not substantively based on material covered during this week), and class presentations.”

Also, please observe that Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, are noted “Reading Days” and no exams of any kind can be given on those days as well.

I also want to remind you of the procedure you may follow in the event of a delayed final exam. If for any reason you are asked to vacate the examination room, the examination papers will be collected by the faculty member or instructional staff as the students leave.

If the faculty/Instructional staff desires, the exam may be rescheduled in the originally scheduled room on Friday, May 3rd or Tuesday, May 7th,7:00-10:00 pm, or during a reasonable, non-restricted time slot Wednesday, May 8th. You (the student) will be informed of the choice of action as you exit the room.

The grades will continue to be submitted in PeopleSoft by the usual deadline; but if that should prove to be impracticable, the faculty/instructional staff will need to work with the Registrar’s Office to determine a reasonable due date for submitting the grades.

Best wishes as we come to the end of another school year full of hard work and learning!
