February Break Snow Removal

To help facilitate snow removal in parking lots across campus, particularly in residential and apartment parking lots, we are asking any students who will have a vehicle parked on campus over the February Break to utilize the Lower Cheel and Walker parking lots for the duration of the break. This will allow the Grounds team to thoroughly clear out the residential areas in preparation for your return to campus after the break.

Our offices and others have heard your concerns regarding snow buildup and difficulty in entering and exiting parking spaces in some of the more heavily used residential parking areas on campus. Addressing these issues thoroughly and effectively will take a concerted effort from the entire campus, and your participation in the process will serve to benefit the entire campus community. The more cooperation we have from you for this operation, the better we can alleviate your concerns. Without it, we will be unable to address them as effectively as possible. This will be especially important given the forecasted heavy snowfall over the coming week leading up to the break. To best achieve this shared goal and allow Grounds the space they need to work, we will consider all residential and apartment parking lots with the exception of Lower Cheel and Walker to be closed starting Thursday, February 20th through noon on Sunday, February 23rd. Any vehicles left in these lots may be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Campus Safety and Security at safetyandsecurity@clarkson.edu or 315-268-6666.

Sincerely,
