Olujide Oyerinde Awarded Best Graduate Student Research Paper by Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Awards Committee

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Awards Committee is proud to announce Olujide Oyerinde as the winner of the department’s 2024 award for Best Graduate Student Research Paper.

This award is given in recognition of exemplary graduate student led research published in the 2024 calendar year. In making the selection for this award, the faculty committee considered both the quality of the paper itself and the importance of its findings to its field.

Olujide was lead author on a paper titled “Comparative Investigation of Process-Induced Transformations and Diffusional Mechanisms in Additively Manufactured AlCoCrFeNi High-Entropy Alloy.” The article was published in Journal of Metallography, Microstructure and Analysis, which is one of the top ranked journals in its field.

This work represents a timely and impactful contribution to the field of advanced materials and manufacturing. His research and its extensions were presented at over a dozen national and international conferences, including the Materials Research Society (MRS), the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), the Materials Science and Technology (MS&T), and ASM International conference. His active engagement has led to additional roles as a Session Chair at MS&T and AISTech, which bring together over 8,000 researchers globally, and as a Peer Reviewer for journals like Journal of Materials Research & Technology, Materials Science and Engineering: A, and JOM.
