Fire Alarm Testing Planned for the Academic Buildings

NCC Systems will conduct annual fire alarm/smoke & heat detection system inspections for all academic buildings from Friday, August 16 until Friday, August 23.

All NCC Systems technicians will be wearing visually identifiable company attire, and will have company photo ID’s as well as Clarkson Contractor Badges. They may or may not be accompanied by Clarkson University FAS Maintenance technicians during the inspection process.

Inspections will include NCC Systems technician(s) entering each room in the building to test smoke and/or heat detectors to ensure they operate properly. No alarms will sound beyond those within earshot of the control panel for each building for most of the day.  A short overall test sounding of alarms and strobes will take place some time during the day as well, which may cause slight interruption of activities in the building. Test alarm activations will be coordinated with Campus Safety and Security.

In the event of a fire alarm activation in ANY of these buildings at ANY time over the next two weeks, all occupants must evacuate and NOT assume the alarm activation is a test!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and accommodation.  Please email facilities@clarkson.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
