Situated on 640 acres, our campus is fortunate to boast expanses of natural wooded beauty which we work hard to maintain. Additionally, the campus is thoughtfully managed with healthy trees, lawns, gardens and meandering stone walls.
In an effort to best manage our resources, we will be reducing the number of smaller flower beds scattered across campus in lieu of fewer but larger gardens consolidated in prominent, more impactful locations. Examples include the 9/11 Memorial, the flowered main entrance from Route 11, the landscaped area between the Cheel parking lot and the Quad, and the new garden surrounding the updated sign at the intersection of Clarkson Avenue and Route 11. Other areas have been targeted for the future.
The University places a high importance on the planning and maintaining of a beautiful campus. And surveys confirm the importance of a beautiful college campus to enhance the faculty, staff and student experience.
