Yang Yang has been appointed assistant professor of civil & environmental engineering at Clarkson University.
He received his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Tsinghua University and his bachelor of engineering in environmental engineering from South China University of Technology.
Yang’s research interests include the synthesis and characterization of advanced nanomaterials, and their environmental catalytic applications in water treatment, flue gas purification, and value-added chemical production.
He has published in Environmental Science: Water Research and Technology, ACS Catalysis, Environmental Science & Technology, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, and Chemosphere, among other publications, as well as in presentations and invited talks. His works have also been highlighted by multiple media, such as ACS Central Science, C&EN, Chemical Watch, etc.
Yang is the associate editor of Emerging Contaminants and is a reviewer for Environmental Science & Technology, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Journal of Hazardous Materials, New Journal of Chemistry, RSC Advance, Journal of Molecular Catalysis, Electrochimica Acta, Chemosphere, Water Science & Technology, and Journal of Environmental Science.
He previously served as a senior research scientist and as a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology.
