Hockey Fights Cancer Night at Cheel November 15

The Clarkson University Golden Knights Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams will host Special Hockey Fights Cancer Games this Friday against the Mercyhurst Lakers (Women) & the Cornell Big Red (Men), thanks to a partnership with Hockey Fights Cancer, the American Cancer Society and with CAC (Colleges Against Cancer), a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty, and staff dedicated to finding a cure for cancer by working to implement the programs and mission of the American Cancer Society. Notable initiatives are the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and also the Relay For Life that takes place here at Clarkson every year. These cancer awareness games will celebrate cancer survivors and raise donated funds for the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives from cancer.

The games will be held this Friday, November 15th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. (women) and 7:00 p.m. (men). All students, their families and community members are invited to attend the games, wear purple, lavender, pink or baby blue in support of the cause, make a donation, and learn more about ways to reduce their risks and the importance of detecting cancer early. All fans are encouraged to wear purple attire in support of Pancreatic Cancer month and the Hockey Fights Cancer campaign. Upon donation, you will receive raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes such as purple hockey sticks signed by your favorite players and much more!

Hockey Fights Cancer unites the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. This joint initiative gets an assist from the entire hockey family. Together, the hockey community looks to inspire hope and courage for those who are living with, going through and moving past cancer. Proceeds and benefits of this game will go directly to the American Cancer Society. Online donations are to be made at the link below and are much appreciated.
