Add/Drop Reminder

This is a reminder that we are now past the 10th class day, and the add period has ended. In addition, self-service add/drop through PeopleSoft has been turned off and all permission numbers have expired. The electronic add/drop form in PeopleSoft is now available for UNDERGRADUATE students to use.

The following regulations apply during this period:

Add Class:
Students must have approval of their academic advisor, course instructor, department chair, and Dean’s office. Undergraduates may submit a paper add/drop form, or an electronic add/drop for via PeopleSoft.  Please push the electronic form in PeopleSoft, whenever possible (grad students must use the paper form). Cross-registration is also considered a “late add” at this point, and students must turn in a Dean’s Exception with their cross-registration forms.

Drop class:
Students must have approval from their advisor, and an acknowledgement from the course instructor. If they do the paper form, they must have both signatures. Undergrads can also do the online form – please push the online form whenever possible.  A “W” will not appear on a student’s transcript until the beginning of the withdrawal period. Swap Sections of the Same Class:
This applies only to students who need to change from one section of a class, to another section of the SAME class. Students need to have the course instructors for both sections sign an add/drop form.   There is no electronic method of requesting a section swap, so the paper form is needed in this case.

Change Credit Hours:
To change the # of credit hours for variable credit courses, students need to have their advisor and course instructor sign an add/drop form.  There is no electronic method of requesting this type of change, so a paper form is needed in this case also.
