The Associated Colleges Sustainability Day Planning Committee invites proposals for curriculum development grants to encourage the integration of Sustainability Day 2019 – to be held on Friday, April 5th, 2019 – into one or more spring semester courses. This could take a variety of forms and we are open to your creativity.
Sustainability Day in an annual event aimed at building a culture of sustainability across the four colleges AND the whole North Country. It includes an inspiring keynote speaker, breakout sessions and workshops as well as a poster session and Sustainability Fair, providing myriad ways in which students might become involved.
Involvement could take a variety of forms and we are open to your creativity. Some examples include:
- Requiring students to participate in the event as part of an assignment
- Assigning students to develop and host an activity table or booth during the Sustainability Fair
- Assigning students to hold a panel discussion during the breakout sessions
- Assigning students to create posters for the poster session.
- Any other creative ideas you may have!
Priority will be given to activities that engage other SD19 attendees.
These modest grants ($300) are a direct stipend intended to provide faculty with an opportunity to devote time to planning methods for incorporating SD19 into one or more of their classes. In addition, we will consider proposals requesting material costs up to $150.
