Clarkson University’s Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement TRIO program and Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO program will be co-sponsoring a TRIO Day of Service to honor veterans on March 2, in conjunction with other TRIO programs from St. Lawrence University, SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Canton.
This year, the TRIO programs will be hosting a community luncheon at the Presbyterian Church Community Center, 42 Elm St. Potsdam beginning at noon. Retired Chief Master Sergeant Patrick R. Rourk, Co-Chair of the Fort Drum Retiree Council will be speaking about facing adversity and accomplishment at the event. There will also be live music at the luncheon.
TRIO students will be on hand to prepare a meal of chili, cornbread, and refreshments to serve our local veterans. Attendees are asked to bring a candy bar for a collection box to be shipped to active troops.
