Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Program Announcement

Subject: Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Program Announcement

It is a pleasure to announce that Professor Silvana Andreescu, Egon Matijevic Chair in Chemistry and Professor John Moosbrugger, Associate Dean of Academic Programs for the Coulter School of Engineering and Professor in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering have agreed to serve as the interim leadership of the Materials Science and Engineering PhD program as Co-Directors, effective immediately.  This follows the recent retirement of Marilyn Freeman who was serving as Director of the MS&E program.

The MS&E program is truly interdisciplinary, comprising a curriculum with courses offered in both the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering and residing in the Graduate School.  The MS&E program continues to have strong interactions with CAMP.  Both Professors Andreescu and Moosbrugger are active in materials science and engineering research and education and continue activities in CAMP-related projects.

Please join me in congratulating and thanking Silvana and John for taking on these assignments.

Kerop D. Janoyan, PhD, PE
Dean of the Graduate School
