Clarkson faculty are invited Thursday, June 6, 2019, 9:00 AM-11:00 AM, in 301A Capital Region Campus for a hands-on, faculty development workshop presented by your Teaching & Learning Corner team. Please RSVP here.
This workshop will spark ideas instructors can use to incorporate emerging, evidence-based strategies that will improve student learning in your courses.
Presenters Erin Blauvelt, Loretta Driskel and Laura Perry will share strategies like:
- how to use teacher presence to build relationships
- why offering student choice can improve assessment
- when to recognize needs associated with andragogy
- why utilizing immersive technologies takes your teaching to the next level.
With this new set of lenses, attendees will be coached to review a current course activity to reveal ideas for improvement.
If you are asking what the heck is andragogy or how do I use an immersive technology, no worries! This workshop will give you an understanding of their important role in today’s learning, and help you start down these paths with confidence.
9:00 am – 11:00 am – Coffee and light refreshments provided. Following workshop TLC team members will be available for continued discussion or one-on-one consults. Let us know you are interested in the RSVP form here.
We plan to order in lunch with anyone interested in joining & put your recommendations in the comments in the RSVP form here.
