Clarkson University Finalizing Partnership with the American College of Greece on International Scholars Program

Clarkson University is finalizing plans for a “2+2” cooperative bachelor’s degree program with the American College of Greece.

The ACG-Clarkson International Scholars Program (ISP) will offer highly qualified students two years of study at ACG-Deree, followed by two years at Clarkson and leading to a bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related area of study.

Admission to the ISP requires a minimum Greek high school grade point average of 18, or equivalent, and an ACG-Deree minimum GPA of 3.2. Students will enroll full-time (15 credit hours/semester) at ACG-Deree and earn an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. A five-week summer session at Clarkson between the students’ first and second years is required.

ACG-Clarkson International Scholars qualify for merit-based financial aid for their study at ACG-Deree, and with a minimum ACG-Deree GPA of 3.5, students will receive a 75% tuition scholarship at Clarkson.

The program is designed for Greek students who want to diversify their academic experience in the U.S., with the undergraduate STEM programs that Clarkson is well-known for, and then return to Greece to apply that new STEM knowledge and help drive economic development.

In announcing the ISP, ACG President David G. Horner said, “Clarkson has an impressive record of connecting technology-based studies with economic development. The ACG-Clarkson International Scholars Program not only offers great value to ACG students but also connects directly to our strategic plan – ACG 150 Advancing the Legacy, Growing Greece. Undoubtedly, students will benefit personally from this unique international learning experience; we hope and expect many will choose to apply their learning to build Greece’s future technology-based economy.”

Clarkson President Anthony G. Collins added, “We look forward to welcoming talented students through the ACG – Clarkson International Scholars Program, which helps Clarkson continue its mission to drive global innovation at the intersection of business and engineering.”
