Volunteers needed!
It is exciting to hear the process of the campus Greenhouse rebuild project! The University is excited to see the finished project. In support of this campus-wide project and all the hard work required, the University has approved that any employee may work on this project up to two hours during their regular shift as service to the University from now until September 30. The two hours can be spilt up depending on department needs.
Please click here to sign up . To ensure that we don’t have everyone show up at the same time, we are limiting volunteers to 3 people per time slot for most dates.
Please coordinate your volunteer time with your supervisor. Managers can enter their time in Kronos as REG1st shift with a comment of Green House volunteer
Job duties may include:
- Insulation installation
- Rubber floor installation
- Lifting objects between 10-50 lbs
- Raking
- Shoveling
- Using a sledgehammer
- Using other hand tools
The greenhouse reconstruction project was made possible through the 2019 Sustainability Fund. Engineering students in a series of capstone design classes over the last two years designed the new structure.
