Lara J. Varden, a Ph.D. student in Clarkson University’s Interdisciplinary Biosciences & Biotechnology Program has been accepted into “Frontiers in Stem Cells and Regeneration,” one of the Marine Biological Laboratory’s (MBL) Advance Research Training Courses.
The training course, held in Woods Hole, Mass. from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, is a laboratory and lecture-based course that includes a complete array of biological and medical perspectives from the fundamental basic biology of “stemness” and mechanisms of regeneration through evaluation of pluripotent stem cells for therapeutic benefit.
The course also features bioethics seminars, career coaching, and ongoing one-on-one mentoring by course faculty participants.
Each year, MBL courses attract a diverse population of more than 500 graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from more than 300 institutions and over 30 countries.
Students are empowered to pursue science at the very highest levels and work directly with outstanding faculty from around the world, day after day, pursuing novel experiments that test new ideas and foster a globe-spanning network of collaboration.
