Clarkson’s Incoming Class of 2023

Clarkson is welcoming more than 800 new students to its Potsdam campus next week to join the Class of 2023. The incoming class met all planned enrollment targets as well as represents year-over-year gains of higher GPA’s and SAT scores over the last three years. This year’s freshman class is also more diverse with 19% of the incoming enrollment underrepresented students.

With an average median starting salary north of $63,400 per year for last year’s graduating seniors and the ongoing evolution of world-relevant curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities, Clarkson University’s remarkable return on investment is driving national interest – 40% of this year’s first-year students are from outside of New York State. A recent PayScale report confirms Clarkson is among the very top colleges across the country in terms of return on investment, by ranking the institution among the top 35 in the country in its college salary report for early and mid-career earnings.

Through a portfolio of new programs and expanded facilities for hands-on collaboration across disciplines including a new Innovation Hub, the University has rolled out over the last two years #Clarkson Ignite, an innovation catalyst for students to explore, create and achieve what’s next. All students graduate fully equipped with the entrepreneurial mindset and innovation skill sets that modern employers demand.

New approaches to learning like this are attracting students who want to be at the intersection of business, engineering, science and technology. As a national research university known for its leadership in technological education, the University’s School of Arts & Sciences has seen steady increases in enrollment during this time.

“Clarkson University is diversifying its approaches in how we recruit students and how the University continues to seek out what’s next in careers and industry.  A Clarkson education truly ignites the things that are important to the Class of 2023 and their families – a collaborative learning environment with faculty and classmates as well as rewarding career opportunities and joining an outstanding alumni network after graduation,” said Brian Grant, Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs.
