Welcome (back) to Clarkson! Fire Safety Education and Awareness

To help keep students safe during the school year, fire safety education and awareness is very important and is provided through multiple avenues at Clarkson University. It is critical that all students understand the importance of fire safety and what role they play in maintaining a safe and compliant living and learning environment at Clarkson University. Below is a list of upcoming trainings and available tools that we will be using to ensure fire safety education and awareness on campus.

  1. Online Fire Safety Training (Moodle) – required for all first year students, students residing in an on-campus apartment or theme house, students associated with Greek Life and Residence Life staff (ACs, RDs and RAs).
    • First Year Students – available through your First Year Seminar Moodle course
    • All other students – Moodle course “Student Fire Safety Training Fall 2019”
  2. Hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training (In-person) – required for all students residing in an on-campus apartment or theme house, students associated with Greek Life and Residence Life staff (even if you have already taken the training in past).
  3. Residential Fire Safety Checklist (Peoplesoft To Do List) – required for all students that live on campus
  4. Residential Fire Safety Brochures – placed in every on-campus student room prior to the start of the Fall semester and can also be found electronically on the Environmental Health & Safety website (https://intranet.clarkson.edu/administrative/dehs/fire-safety/)
