As the Cheel Campus Center & Arena renovation and expansion project draws to a close and with the addition more space recently dedicated to events in the Schuler Indoor Recreation Center, it is anticipated that these two facilities will be the centerpieces of campus events at Clarkson.
As both venues are within the control of the Athletic Department, it is appropriate that University Events & Conference Services report to the Athletic Director, Scott Smalling and share in supporting the appropriate staffing of these activities. Marcy Bennett and her staff are located in Cheel 221 and will continue to provide the same services in event set ups and annual University ceremonies and events.
VP Kelly Chezum and her External Relations team will focus specifically on external events that involve community relations at large and revenue generating opportunities in addition to the University marketing and government relations.
