Dear Students:
Now that we are a few weeks into the semester, the Office of Residence Life wanted to be proactive and communicate with everyone regarding common housing questions and processes. Below is a quick review of what is to come during the year.
Housing Lottery will take place during the Spring Semester. Housing Lottery numbers are generated by cohort (year in which you entered the university). Lottery numbers are distributed in myCU the week prior to Spring Break. Students will need to complete the Housing Agreement in myCU to see your lottery number. More information will be on the Campus Announcements when we get closer to the Housing Lottery date.
Work requests / orders – Students are reminded that work orders should be submitted via Maintenance Connect for any physical issues with your living space. Facilities will communicate with you when your work request is received, issued, and closed. Please note if you are having a technology issue you should email the Help Desk at helpdesk@clarkson.edu.
Lost keys – Report lost keys to Residence Life staff in Price Hall.
Mid-semester Break – The Residence Halls will remain open for Fall Break if you choose to stay on campus.
Thanksgiving Break – The campus closes for Thanksgiving Break. If you cannot vacate campus for this break you can submit a Vacation Housing Form on Knight Life to stay over break. Please sign into Knight Life and search the Residence Life page. The Vacation Housing Form is under “Forms” on this page. If you are having trouble with this please see your RA to submit the form.
Exemptions – Clarkson has a four year residency requirement and exemptions are provided on a limited basis. Students who wish to apply for an exemption to this policy may apply from 10/1/19 to 3/13/20. This is done through Knight Life. Please sign into Knight Life and search the Residence Life page. The Off-Campus Housing Form is under “Forms” on this page.
