The Clarkson University Men’s Soccer team is hosting its final three regular-season games, but the Golden Knights will have more on their minds when they face Rensselaer at 2:00 pm on Saturday as the two teams battle for first place in the Liberty League.
The last time the two teams played at Hantz Field, the Golden Knights (8-4-2, 4-1-2) beat RPI (13-1-1, 5-0-1) in overtime to claim a spot in the conference tournament and keep the Engineers at home. Two years later, with both programs improved, they are separated by just a single point in the standings and look to earn home field advantage throughout the conference tournament.
