Starting January 1, 2020, the number of weeks eligible employees can take to bond with a new child, care for a sick family member, or assist loved ones when a family member is deployed abroad for active military service is 10 weeks.
Note: If an employee is on PFL that begins in 2019 and carries over into 2020, the benefit and amount of leave time will remain at the 2019 levels.
The benefit amount increases from 55% to 60% of the employees’ average weekly wage up to 60% of the statewide average weekly wage. The maximum weekly benefit for 2020 is $840.70.
The 2020 contribution rate will increase from 0.153% to 0.270% of the employee’s gross wages. The maximum annual contribution amount will increase from $107.97 to $196.72. This rate increase will be begin with January 17, 2020 paycheck.
