Clarkson’s Online MBA Program Scores in 89th Percentile on Major Field Test

Clarkson University’s Online MBA Program has scored in the 89th percentile, according to testing completed by the program’s students.

Students in Clarkson’s current Online MBA cohort were given the Educational Testing Service’s (ETS) MBA Major Field Test.

As the only comprehensive national assessment for program evaluation of its kind, the ETS® Major Field Test for the MBA consists of 124 multiple-choice questions, half of which are based on short case-study scenarios. Questions employ materials such as diagrams, graphs and statistical data. Most of the questions require knowledge of specific information drawn from marketing, strategic management, finance and managerial accounting, or a combination of these.

ETS collects the data of the institutions whose students take these tests and develop a comparative data guide accordingly, which helps institutions like Clarkson to benchmark themselves against other institutions nationally, according to Amir Mousavian, Director of Assurance of Learning at Clarkson’s David D. Reh School of Business. For this particular test, ETS Data includes students from more than 200 domestic institutions who tested between September 2017 and June 2019.

“The current students of the program take the major field test from ETS as part of their capstone course,” Mousavian said. “Such high performance that placed this cohort of our Online MBA program at 89th percentile compared to the other institutions is another measure that confirms the high quality of our students as well as the exceptional curriculum designed and offered by our outstanding faculty.”

Clarkson’s Online MBA Program is ranked in the nation’s top-70 by U.S. News and World Report and is also ranked second best in New York State and eleventh nationally by Online MBA Report.
