CALL FOR APPLICATIONS AND NOMINATIONS

Co-Director for the NYS Center of Excellence (CoE) in Healthy Water Solutions 

Clarkson University and SUNY-ESF are currently seeking collaborative, innovative, and entrepreneurial co-directors for the CoE for Healthy Water Solutions. Each campus will select a co-director following the process outlined below. 

The responsibilities of the co-director include: 

• Developing relationships with industry partners for collaborative project formulation and execution; 

• Completing and submitting reports to the state as required for Centers of Excellence; 

• Acting as the faculty interface with stakeholders; 

• Working with faculty and university administration (e.g., Provost Hannigan, VPR Nomura) to define projects and programming for the Center. 

• Collaborating with VP Fellows and VP Chezum to coordinate legislative contact and to plan and support events. 

Nominations of potential candidates should include a statement of why you think the nominee is best suited to the role of co-Director and should be sent via email to your campus administration (Hannigan or Nomura). Nominees will be asked to apply if appropriate to the position (e.g., faculty at one of the institutions with sufficient expertise in the areas of research within the CoE). 

Applicants will provide, via email to their campus representative: 

• A full Curriculum Vitae that includes details regarding administrative experience, project management experience, as well as germane publications and current/past external funding; 

• A brief statement (no more than 2 pages) describing their experience with industry partners and how the candidate will lead efforts for the successful collaboration between Clarkson and ESF. 

Applications are due by January 10, 2019 5pm and will be reviewed by a committee that includes Provost Hannigan, VPR Nomura, and VPs Fellows and Chezum. 

Conditions of Appointment 

The appointment as co-director will be for 1 year with the option of renewal based on performance and availability of funding. The co-directors will report to and liaison with Provost Hannigan and VPR Nomura. Co-directors will receive a stipend equivalent to one-month summer salary.
