New Moodle UI Coming January 2

A reminder that CU OIT will update Moodle’s user interface (UI) starting January 2, 2020. All Moodle users will note a new user experience with cleaner, simplified presentation of menus, buttons and content inside Moodle.

Moodle is Clarkson’s learning management system (LMS). It is the online platform used by instructors and students across the university to manage course information and communications. These announced updates will impact all Moodle users.

Timing of the update comes when classes are not in session. Faculty are encouraged to view changes and make any needed adjustments prior to when Quarter and Semester Terms resume. Additional support is available. For questions, contact helpdesk@clarkson.edu or 315-268-4357.

The update is scheduled to occur during the maintenance window of 4:00 A.M. – 7:30 A.M. EST on Thursday, January 2, 2020. Users may experience interruption to Moodle during that time.

We appreciate your patience as Moodle user documentation is updated with new images over the next several weeks.

CU OIT first announced this effort in August 2019. Since that time, the project team incorporated feedback from multiple groups including faculty, students and staff. Kind thanks to the members of the faculty, Office of AccessABILITY Services, Office of Residence Life, Resident Assistants, Graduate Student Association, and CUSA for their valued contributions.
