Dear Faculty,
Understanding the demands on your time and opportunities for professional development I want to encourage you, when you can, to attend trainings, seminars, and workshops.
Sometimes these activities can be coincident with your classes. As we would for our students, I encourage you to consider whether you are able to have a guest lecturer step into your class to cover your absence or provide students with an optional learning experience so that you can take advantage of these opportunities.
We will, of course, do our best to schedule these activities outside of high volume class times. Should you elect to adjust your in-class activities to be able to attend a professional development activity, please let your students know at least one week in advance so that they can adjust their schedules and expectations.
