Commencement 2020 will soon be upon us!

As this annual celebration weekend quickly approaches, we want to remind everyone that all Clarkson University exempt employees are called to service on May 14-16, 2020 for Commencement duties in some form. This year we will have our Graduate ceremony at 6pm on Thursday, May 14 and our Undergraduate ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on May 16.

Work assignments for this period are being finalized, but please keep these dates in mind as you plan ahead and if you anticipate conflicts, please first work through your office networks to ensure coverage. Notice of actual assignments will be coming early to mid March. Exempt employees may be assigned to work Thursday, Friday or Saturday as assigned.   Duties may include passing out programs, welcoming guests, traffic control, directing guests to seats, etc. If you are unable to perform your assigned duty, please inform your direct supervisor who then will notify HR.

There will be a hospitality room in Club 99 with a complimentary lunch from 12:30pm-4pm on Saturday, May 16 for any Clarkson employees that are working that day.

If you are a non-exempt employee and wish to volunteer for an assignment, we welcome your participation.  As a volunteer you will be in a non-compensatory status. Please alert us via events@clarkson.edu if you wish to be included in events that support our graduates and their families outside of your regularly scheduled work assignments.

If you child is graduating from Clarkson this year, please email events@clarkson.edu so you can be excused this year from an assignment.

Employees play a very important role and help leave a lasting and positive impression on our graduates and their families, and in turn our future alumni and supporters. Thank you for your role and support in building this lifetime engagement with our alumni.
