Fall 2020 Enrollment

With enrollment just around the corner, the Registrar’s office has been brainstorming ways to provide students with the support they need to complete their Fall 2020 enrollment virtually. One tool that can assist us with that goal is the use of permission numbers. Permission numbers can be given to students to allow them to enroll when instructor consent is required, if the student doesn’t meet the prerequisites but have still been approved to enroll, or if a course is closed   or has reserved seating.

Using permission numbers can usually replace the need for a student to submit an add/drop form and will allow students to enroll themselves into courses through myCU. Since students, faculty and staff are not currently on campus, enrolling with an add/drop form will be much more complicated.

A few notes about permission numbers:

  • When issuing permission numbers please keep room capacity in mind as permission numbers will override caps.
  • If you find yourself in need of additional permission numbers, the Registrar’s Office would be happy to send you additional ones, just contact us at registrar@clarkson.edu.
  • Permission numbers are not able to override time conflicts. If a student has been approved to enroll in courses that create a time conflict, the Registrar’s Office will accept Add/Drop forms by email. The form must still be signed by the student, advisor, and course instructor. Guidance for students has been posted to the SAS website, including information regarding how to electronically sign a PDF.

Thank you for helping us make enrollment as easy as possible for our students during this difficult time.
