High Honors
Margaret Dedloff ’20 has received one of Clarkson’s highest student honors: the Levinus Clarkson Award. Honors student, McNair Scholar, Goldwater Scholar, published author — all are but a few of the distinctions Dedloff obtained during her time at Clarkson. Her research on immunology has contributed to numerous research papers. READ MORE

Receiving Clarkson’s other highest student honor, the Frederica Clarkson Award, Noah Chicoine ’20 also had a distinguished career at Clarkson as an Honors student. His extensive research experience, including two NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates placements, has involved mathematical modeling of diverse subjects. READ MORE
Reaching for the Stars
The Sigma Gamma Tau Undergraduate Award for the Northeastern Region was just another feather in the cap of Honors student Andres Garcia Jimenez ’20. Already a Goldwater Scholar, Jimenez is now in the running against other regional winners for the aerospace engineering honor society’s national award. READ MORE
Professor Shen Retires
After 44 years of teaching, Professor Hayley Shen is taking a well-deserved rest, retiring from Clarkson as professor emeritus. Not only did Shen contribute significantly to the fields of granular materials and wave-ice interaction throughout her career, but Honors alums will remember her as the founder of the Honors thesis process.
