It is an honor to announce the following individuals have completed RISE: Reframing Education for Success, Cohort III. This teaching and learning skills development workshop was created by Clarkson’s Teaching & Learning Corner in Spring 2020 as an initiative aimed to support faculty across the institution in their endeavor to teach online or remote.
We recognize all who participated in the RISE workshops this past summer. In total, through their hard work and dedication, 35% of Clarkson faculty earned RISE completion certificates with a ‘met’ rating on all required workshop activities. RISE participants engaged to produce:
- 178+ new tool explorations
- 178+ courses with measurable objectives and high quality, complete syllabi
- 178+ faculty discussions on high quality feedback & Zoom best practices
- 178+ plans for active learning
- 178+ authentic assessments
- 219 OER website reviews
- 128 introduction videos in FlipGrid with 2,215 views and 43.6 hours of engagement
If you missed RISE this past Summer, you will be glad to know RISE will return December 1, 2020 in an asynchronous/synchronous facilitated 6-week workshop aimed to help instructors utilize the latest methods in quality course design for online learning. The TLC welcomes instructors who are preparing Spring 2021 courses as well as others who have not yet completed RISE. This upcoming offering will offer even more supports for those seeking additional ed-tech training as well as level-up options to expand upon existing online experiences as that is based on feedback received from RISE participants to date. More about RISE or sign up for RISE Cohort IV.
The RISE credential is issued to each participant’s personnel record in Peoplesoft HR and is viewable to them and their supervisors. Participants received notice of their completion along with digital certificates via Moodle.
The TLC again thanks its partners from the Library, Office of Accessibility, Academic Integrity Committee, and the Provost’s Office for their contributions and support of this successful initiative. We look forward to continuing our work to bring professional development opportunities to Clarkson faculty for advancement of instructional experiences at Clarkson.
