Get Ready for Clarkson’s Family Day!

Thursday, October 22nd is a day of festivities for students and families alike as we celebrate both Family Day and Break Day!

Family Day, celebrated virtually, is an alternative to our traditional Family Weekend campus events with the goal of providing families opportunities to connect with their student as well as the Clarkson Student Life experience. All students are invited to join in all Family Day activities whether it be with their families from home or their Clarkson Families!
Check out schedule below and be sure to encourage your family to join you!

  • Throughout the day: Join a class taught by a real Clarkson professor! Physics 1 with Professor Mike Ramsdell, Associate Professor of Physics & the Institute for STEM Education / Director of First Year Physics, will be streamed to the Parent/Family Facebook Group.
  • 5:30p: Faculty Presentation: The Magic of Going Outside Your Usual: Often the most magical experiences, those that open doors to new possibilities, happen when we decide to do something different than our usual choice. School of Arts & Sciences Dean Tom Langen will relate examples from his own life and that of his students on the magic of going outside your usual. Ask questions! Join the presentation here.
  • 6:30p: Magic Night In with Dan Martin: We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with celebrity magician Daniel Martin to bring you an all new Magic Night IN, steaming LIVE to you! Daniel is going to pull back the curtain and teach you some of his most incredible pieces of magic, magic that you’ve seen done on TV, plus he will perform some special never before seen magic just for you in the process. The magic he is going to share with you is not only awesome, but really easy to learn and uses items most of you have lying around your place! Plus, you will be able to ask him questions and be part of the magic while he performs and teaches us! So check out the supplies that you need to gather up before we go live with Daniel for this fun and special night just for us! Check out a preview of the show here. Join the event here.
  • 7:30p: The Magic of Makeup: Join presenters and Clarkson alumni from The Estée Lauder Companies for this session for a behind-the-scenes presentation on the methods, materials, and production of cosmetic products. Find out what it takes to make different types of formulas, the role pigments and pearls and more. Ask questions! Join the presentation here.

Break Day, celebrated virtually and in-person, is an alternative to extended Fall Breaks that provides students social, fun, and co-curricular activities with the intention of incentivizing students staying on campus and/or within the North Country region. We invite all students to take advantage of these activities with their Clarkson Families. Check out our schedules below!
