COVID-19 Read: Restart for January – COVID-19 Testing for Employees Returning to Potsdam Campus Operations in 2021

Dear Clarkson Faculty and Staff,

Thank you for your continued diligence towards keeping the campus safe and healthy, as well as your personal commitment to stopping the spread of COVID-19 in our community.  We look forward to more employees returning to work on campus for the spring semester based on the successes of our restart plan in the Fall semester.

As we look forward to the upcoming holidays prior to the restart of the Spring semester, we recognize that we will need to “rebuild the bubble” in January as families travel and spend time with each other in the month of December.

In an effort to ensure that not only our students come back to campus and rebuild the bubble with a negative COVID -19 results, we will be testing all faculty and staff who will be working on campus prior to the students returning in January.  Please see the policy that has been reviewed with the Administrative Council and Faculty Senate.

Please monitor your Clarkson email towards the end of December for a date and time that you will be asked to report to our on campus testing facility. Employees will not be allowed to return to campus in January until they have been tested and received a negative result. Students will be undergoing a similar rigorous testing regime as they did last August.

Employees seeking a medical exemption for returning to in person work in the spring semester, should refer to the November 23, 2020 announcement on requesting special accommodations

If you have any questions, please contact clarksonhr@clarkson.edu.

Thank you and have a joyous holiday season.
