The Clarkson Association of Psychology Students (CAPS) is starting a new mentorship program that aims to pair up an underclassman with an upperclassman according to their interests in the field of Psychology.
As a mentee in this mentorship, you will gain the insights of being a psychology major and be provided with support and guidance from your mentor. You can ask questions about which classes to take, how to start your own research, how to interact with your professors, what career choices are out there, or just about anything else that pops in your head!
As for mentors, this is a great way for you to gain experience in mentoring your peers, improving your communication skills, and developing your leadership skills. Remember when you were an underclassman confused about what you wanted to major in? Did you have someone there to help you out along the way? Well, this is a way for you to help out your peers, and to give back to your community. This is do doubt a very rewarding experience and you’ll be surprised by what you learn from your mentees.
It is easy to feel disconnected in today’s world but by becoming part of the CAPS Mentorship Program, you’ll meet many individuals who have similar interests as you.
